Tahawwur Rana Denied Bail

December 16, 2009 17:55:54
The accused terrorist Tahawwur Hussain Rana was denied bail by federal judge in Chicago for he might flee the country if set free which is a potential 'risk' for the court.

U.S. magistrate Nan Nolan clarified her stand to Rana and said, "I am sure you would be disappointed but carry on with what you are doing best at for now."

According to the report of the judge, Rana had strong ties with his relatives and siblings in Canada while his roots in the U.S. is not considerable. In such a situation, it would pose a hurdle to the federal forces if he enters their neighboring country. Moreover, his massive $1.6 million property would help him get the required access to flee.

David Headley's co-operation had indefinitely affected Rana's bail and the confidential details will be revealed when the police gathers enough evidence.
