Karunanidhi Surprised With Supreme Court's Move

November 13, 2009 11:30:00
Expressing his surprise and discontent over the Mullai Periyar dam case, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidh said that he is discontent with the way the Supreme Court is operating in this case which is being dragged along for nearly 11 years.

When the TN govt was expecting a favorable reply, the Kerala government ignoring the verdict of the Supreme Court altered the law and neglected the order to let increase the feet in the dam.

Questioning their move, Karunanidhi said, "The judgment is being postponed for long and true to the adage a delayed judgment is biased judgment it is happening with Mullai Periyar case. If Kerala government could alter the law, then it is a bad example for all other regions. What will happen if every other state has the rights to change rules accordingly and what will happen to the nation in such case? Assigning a new panel of judges to revoke the case had disappointed me but I am no way going against the Supreme Court's order."
