December 15, 2009 14:55:34
After the release dates had been confirmed on Dec 18, the magnum opus of James Cameroon 'Avatar' will hit Indian Theatres with 700 prints dubbed in many languages along with the English version.

Production house Twentieth Century Fox had gone over the edge and had invested a whopping sum of $230 million (Read Rs 1,200 crores) which is so far the biggest production cost of recent times. A delightful news is the film will be screened in 3D at selected screens and Imax theatres.

"With the outstanding expectation shrouding the movie, we are confident Avatar would make good business in the Indian market. The dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi will deliver it to the masses in a localized platter," said Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios India.

'Avatar' will be the first ever Hollywood film to hit screens in Tamil in 3D format.
In Tamil Nadu alone, it hits atleast 100 screens this Friday and compared to the 350 screens reserved for 'Vettaikaran', it promises a definite competition ahead.
