Dissenting the decision to sell 10% share of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, AIADMK secretary Jayalalitha has made a statement regarding a protest rally to be organized at Neyveli tomorrow.
In the statement, it reads, the central government earlier decided to bid 10% shares of the profitable industry in 2006 but it was reverted after AIADMK protested severely for the welfare of the people. Then 6.5 % was sold earlier and it is not permissible to sell more shares for the profit oriented private sectors.
Before making such decisions, the central and state government should take the welfare of agriculturists and public into consideration. In 2008-09, the corporation generated around 821 crores which supported the budget largely and it should be retained for the legitimate body.
Led by Chinnasamy, leader of Anna Industrial Association the protest will begin at 5 pm which will be presided over by Kadalur secretary Sampath and NLC Anna Union secretary Rama Udhayakumar.
