General secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Jayalalitha in a press release severely condemned the Congress led UPA government for hiking the fuel prices that will impose a burden on the public adding to the already existing grievances.
"The UPA government is unconcerned towards the sufferings of a common man as they don't have the need to gain votes for the next five years. In their five year tenure last time, the petroleum products price was hiked four times owing to international market. The increase of Rs 4 for petrol and Rs 2 in diesel will invariably affect the transport department. This in turn will result in soaring prices for grocery, vegetables and commodities that are delivered by means of road," said Jayalalitha.
The statement concludes requesting the central government to immediately slash down the prices and favor the public.
