The story of a lover with uncurbed vendetta towards the womanizer who abducts his lover is 'Newtonin Moondram Vithi' directed by Thai Muthu Selvan. Set in real time sequence, the incidents unfold in the span of two hours in a racy thriller. Based on a novel, director Thai Muthu Selvan has envisaged the two hour screenplay apart from directing the movie. The edge-of-the-seat thriller has some astute moments and planned outcome but for the few trivial flaws.

JD (Rajeev), the proprietor of a widespread television channel Eagle TV is a womanizer who exploits his female employees by harassing and making them submit to his wishes. A pretty comparer Priya in the channel falls prey in his eyes. Meanwhile, Gurumoorthy (SJ Suryah) comes into her life and constantly nags her to love him. He reveals the awkward moments he endured because of her laughs and gags program in the channel. When the love bug bites the couple and they decide to marry, JD threatens her to submit to his lustful wishes before their marriage but she rejects him abruptly.

A marriage proposal is hurriedly arranged but Guru goes into lock up and a determined JD rapes her unto death. In the present, a vengeance filled Guru makes hardheaded plans for a whole year to take revenge on the day his lover died, on February 14th. When he phones up JD setting him a two hour time limit, the narration kicks off in a racy pace to end in a gruesome climax.

As an actor, SJ Suryah has fine tuned his skills to a good extent compared to his earlier ventures. Even though his voice breaks up at high pitches, he has bought the melancholic yet revengeful look into his eyes that has the right effect. When the director has decided to set the introduction scene with candid camera television personals and an adult theme, who else would match perfectly except Suryah! Sayali Bhagat has a stronghold in the glamour part but she lacks emotions in the brutal rape scenes where she struggles to express her agony. A fresh arrival is Rajeev, the charming hero of the yesteryear 'Ahaa' and he's gone for a image makeover in the role of a sophisticated villain sans loud howling. His rich looks and elegant body language is made for the demeanor that absorbs it with ease.

The dialogue writer has penned some of the taut punch lines that generate applause from the crowd. Music composed by debutant Vinay is good in bits and parts. He is heavily inspired by the theme music of the 'Bourne Identity' series and has rehashed the interlude often yet on the whole he has done a good job. Saravanan has cranked the camera that has lot of chase sequences that has been captured in a racy style. In a movie based on real time, editing is the crucial part that helps to relate the tension which has been done with finesse by Gopi.

Thai Muthu Selvan has made a breaking entry with an edge-of-the-seat thriller but he has made some trivial flaws that slow down the pace. A complete two hour has been reserved for the vengeance part while 40 minutes goes for the rest of the story that is a bit lengthy for a fast thriller. When the director has portrayed the protagonist as a hardheaded guy in the first half, he has made him near helpless towards the end. The gruesome end could have been skipped as the script doesn't demand that much.

'For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction' that is being re-inculcated again and again with witty actions and incidents. 'Newtonin Moondram Vithi' has some enjoyable astute moments if the trivial flaws could be overlooked.
